What if the worst creatures on the internet could be defeated with precisely timed clicks? That’s the pitch behind CLICK BAIT, a satirical action roguelite from independent developer Benjamin Adams, where every encounter revolves around a constantly spinning timing wheel.
First Signal indie discovery: based on developer-supplied information and authentic current-game screenshots, not a hands-on review. A free public PC demo is available now; the full game is not yet released.

One wheel, three crucial colours
The combat system asks players to press at the right moment as coloured nodes rotate around a wheel. According to the official Steam description, white nodes perform attacks, red nodes are used to block incoming damage, and gold nodes award currency for upgrading a run. Enemies change how those actions are presented, demanding a new rhythm for each encounter.
It’s a compact control scheme with an intriguing trade-off: committing to a hit at the wrong time can leave you vulnerable, but learning the timing gives even a single button a surprising range of decisions.

A roguelite built around timing
Runs include passive relics, upgrades and an increasingly crowded set of online-inspired enemies. The official materials show a run map and an upgrade shop, suggesting that what players buy between battles matters alongside how accurately they hit their marks.

The internet provides the enemies
CLICK BAIT leans into internet satire for its creature designs. Among the named encounters are Autocorrect, the Influencer and Spam Bot. It is deliberately colourful, comical and a little absurd, but its underlying combat could appeal to anyone who enjoys quick-time precision, replayable arcade runs and mechanical mastery.

Try the demo, not the unreleased full game
Benjamin Adams has confirmed that there is no embargo on editorial discussion or independent capture of the public demo. The studio also provided written approval for use of its original screenshots. Capture of in-game music is a separate issue, though: the developer cannot guarantee third-party soundtrack clearance, so our own recorded gameplay will be muted unless track rights are separately verified.
