COLOURED STATIC PRESS / COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIPS

Relevant games. Relevant gear. Real opportunities.

Work with an independent gaming and technology publication through transparent advertising, clearly labelled indie game placements and practical developer services. Our commercial partnerships are separate from editorial reviews and recommendations.

Three ways to work together.

We’re opening a carefully limited initial partnership programme. The offers below are intended for developers, publishers, hardware manufacturers and businesses genuinely relevant to our readers. We don’t sell review scores or guaranteed editorial recommendations.

THE SWITCHBOARD / PAID ADVERTISING PILOT

Promoted indie game listing

£29 / 30-day introductory placement

An optional, clearly marked advertising position for a suitable indie game. Ordinary directory consideration and game submissions remain free.

  • A dedicated promoted-game card, labelled Advertisement or Paid placement.
  • Developer-approved official image, short factual description and store-page link.
  • A fixed 30-day run, with start and end dates agreed before booking.
  • Limited to three concurrent introductory slots; subject to suitability and availability.
  • No guaranteed clicks, impressions, sales, review, score or editorial recommendation.

THE GEAR ROOM / SPONSORSHIP

Reach hardware enthusiasts

By quotation / tailored to campaign

Discuss a sponsorship or dedicated advertising placement for relevant gaming hardware, peripherals, accessories or retailers.

  • Clearly labelled sponsored modules or banners, where suitable.
  • Placement, format, duration and reporting agreed in writing.
  • Editorial testing, review scores and product recommendations stay independent.
  • Manufacturer-supplied samples are never a promise of coverage.

FOR DEVELOPERS / PRIVATE SERVICES

Useful feedback, not bought praise

By quotation / scoped before work begins

Private developer feedback and presentation support for studios looking for clear, actionable information, not guaranteed publicity.

  • Private gameplay feedback and observations, subject to an agreed scope.
  • Press-kit and media-information support.
  • Example deliverables available before commissioning.
  • No automatic coverage, review or positive verdict in exchange for payment.

How the indie advertising pilot works.

  1. Enquire. Send us the game title, official page, studio details and preferred dates. We check suitability and available slots.
  2. Agree the placement. We’ll confirm the 30-day window, artwork, description, final price and terms in writing before any payment is requested.
  3. Approve the ad. We check the promotional claims and rights to imagery. The finished card is labelled as advertising and any paid outbound link uses the appropriate sponsored link attribute.
  4. Go live and finish on schedule. The card runs for the agreed period and is then removed. Any performance figures we share will be actual recorded results, not estimates presented as achievements.

Pilot rate is introductory, subject to acceptance and written confirmation. This page is an invitation to enquire, not an automated checkout or promise that a placement is available.

Building towards larger partnerships.

We also welcome early conversations about future newsletter sponsorship and other relevant, clearly labelled advertising formats. These are not yet sold as established audience packages. Any commercial proposal will use verified, up-to-date reach and engagement figures, not projected results passed off as achieved performance.

For our editorial credentials and existing coverage, see the standalone media kit, The Gear Room and The Switchboard directory.

Have a relevant campaign in mind?

Tell us what you’re promoting, who it is for, your preferred dates and the outcome you’re trying to achieve. We’ll respond with a proposal that clearly separates paid promotional activity from independent journalism.
