Bleach & Blood Turns a Laundromat Night Shift Into PS1-Style Slasher Horror

The washing machines are turning, the night shift is dragging on, and somebody dangerous is outside. In Bleach & Blood, independent developer The Windy Project takes the everyday routine of running a small-town laundromat and sets it against the creeping threat of a killer stalking the surrounding streets.

First Signal / The Scream Signal: this is an indie discovery feature based on developer-supplied information and five original screenshots from the public demo, not a hands-on review or scored verdict. We have not independently completed the demo.

A quiet workplace is the perfect place to feel watched

Players follow Evelyn during a night shift at a local laundromat. The game’s opening chapter combines ordinary workplace tasks with increasingly unsettling events, gradually turning a familiar setting into the backdrop for a slasher story.

It’s an effective premise on paper. The routine of cleaning and keeping a business running gives the player something mundane to focus on while the knowledge of a nearby threat hangs over every small action. Instead of immediately transporting players to a remote castle or abandoned hospital, the game finds its danger in a place that ought to be ordinary.

PS1-style presentation, modern unease

The Windy Project describes the game as a PS1-style first-person slasher. Its deliberate low-fidelity presentation is part of the aesthetic: an intentionally old-school look paired with a setting where the danger is close and difficult to predict.

The developer reports that the free English-language demo covers the opening chapter and takes around 25–30 minutes to complete. That estimate is theirs, not a time measured by Coloured Static Press. The complete game is currently planned for 2027, so the available chapter should not be confused with a full release.

Free to try, with an important audio note

The publicly released demo is available on Steam for Windows, macOS and Linux. The developer has expressly permitted editorial use of its original press screenshots, and recording and streaming of the public demo, with no embargo.

There is one limitation for creators: the developer’s permission covers the rights they control, but third-party audio licences have not been independently verified. As a result, we would not assume that all in-game music or sound is cleared for monetised Twitch archives, YouTube videos or social clips. Any such coverage would require appropriate muting or separate clearance.
