Polyx 2D Offers 35 Falling Shapes, 27 Levels and No Ads on Apple Devices

Sometimes the most refreshing feature in a mobile game is what it leaves out. Polyx 2D: Falling Blocks is a free puzzle game from Skippy Skipmo LLC that removes advertisements while building on the familiar pleasure of rotating and placing falling shapes.

Switchboard indie discovery based on the developer’s October 2026 press kit and original gameplay screenshots, cleared for editorial and related social coverage in writing. This is not a hands-on review and no performance or feature claims have been independently tested by Coloured Static Press.

More than the familiar four-square shape

The central mechanical difference is variety. Rather than limiting players to the familiar combinations of four squares, Polyx 2D uses 35 polyomino shapes. The official press kit describes 27 progressively more complicated solo levels, with the ability to replay the final level rather than restart the game from the beginning.

Players can rotate, move and drop pieces using either swipes or on-screen buttons. The press kit also lists a GitHub-style play-activity tracker, Apple Game Center achievements and leaderboards, and live one-versus-one battles against Game Center friends with rematches.

Twenty-five looks for the same puzzle

There is a substantial visual-customisation component. The developer says players can choose between 25 colour styles for the falling pieces, along with light and dark modes. The supplied raw captures show how significantly the board’s appearance changes between bubbles, patchwork, candy, gemstones and mosaic styles.

An ad-free proposition, across Apple devices

According to the October press kit, the game is free with no advertisements or promotions, currently available for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. iPhone and iPad require iOS or iPadOS 18 or later. The document also cites dozens of language options, including support for right-to-left scripts. The stated language count differs within the source material, so we have not repeated a precise figure.

The developer has now clarified that the game supports 60 in-game languages, including some which are not separately listed by the App Store. The game is pitched as a complete mobile puzzle experience rather than a free download designed around interruptions. Whether its broader shape set creates the right amount of challenge is something we’ll reserve for an actual playtest.
