E.S.D.E. Brings High-Stakes Post-Apocalyptic Extraction to PC and Consoles This December

Every expedition is a gamble in E.S.D.E., a new post-apocalyptic extraction game from solo developer K148 Game Studio. Publisher JanduSoft has announced a 3 December 2026 release on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, with scavenging, unpredictable threats and a strange mask at the centre of its survival loop.

The setting is a world on the edge of extinction. Much of humanity has disappeared, and some of those left behind have become hostile anomalies. Rather than promise a safe path through the ruins, E.S.D.E. asks you to step into dangerous places, recover anything valuable and make it back in one piece.

Six zones, seven types of threat

According to JanduSoft’s announcement, there are six distinct areas to scavenge, ranging from extensive apartment complexes to an abandoned school. The valuables you recover can be sold to merchants, giving you resources to fund subsequent expeditions.

But it isn’t just about how much you can carry. The publisher describes seven types of anomalies, each with its own behaviour. Learning to recognise what you’re looking at, and how to respond, appears to be as important as finding the next useful item.

The mask might be your best defence

One of the more intriguing details is the mask. JanduSoft says that putting it on at the right moment can stop certain anomalies from detecting you. That raises an interesting possibility for the extraction loop: survival may depend less on fighting everything in front of you and more on knowing when to hide, retreat or risk going a little further.

The announcement also suggests you’ll spend much of your time alone in these dangerous spaces. There is no confirmed multiplayer information in the materials we’ve received, so for now the emphasis is on solitary, high-stakes exploration rather than squad-based extraction.

When does E.S.D.E. launch?

E.S.D.E. is scheduled to launch on 3 December 2026 for Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. The announcement hasn’t detailed pricing or whether a playable demo will be available ahead of launch.

For us, the detail worth watching is how differently those seven anomalies behave in practice. A scavenging game where recognising a threat matters as much as collecting loot could produce some memorable moments, especially if every extra room searched increases the risk of losing a successful run. We’ll be watching for more gameplay and details before release.
