HYPERyuki Brings SSX-Style Arcade Snowboarding to Switch 2 in Early 2027

Official HYPERyuki Snowboard Syndicate snowboarding scene, Wabisabi Games and Acclaim

HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate is heading to Nintendo Switch 2, with publisher Acclaim targeting early 2027 for its colourful arcade snowboarding game. The new platform announcement accompanied a trailer shown during Nintendo’s Indie World presentation on 28 October 2026.

Developed by Mexico-based Wabisabi Games, the team behind RKGK / Rakugaki, HYPERyuki takes inspiration from the trick-heavy extreme-sports games of the early 2000s. Rather than chasing realism, it puts enormous jumps, boost-building combos and a deliberately eccentric cast of riders at the centre of the experience. The announced roster includes a giant kaiju and a snowboarding taco.

Three ways to tackle the mountain

The publisher describes three principal modes. Challenge focuses on objectives, scores and leaderboards. Race makes trick execution part of the speed contest, with successful moves building boost. Chill removes the pressure of a timed run and encourages exploration. Courses are inspired by real-world locations, while rider and board customisation provide reasons to return.

Multiplayer is a notable part of the pitch: Acclaim says the game will support up to eight people online and local split-screen play. The official Steam listing currently describes four-player local split-screen, so the two figures refer to different play modes, not an eight-player couch session.

Release window and platforms

Acclaim’s 28 October announcement names Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, with early 2027 given as the Switch 2 release window. A specific launch day and UK price have not been confirmed. The publisher also says a Steam demo is planned for November 2026; that is an upcoming demo, not a full-game launch.

There is a useful distinction for anyone looking to play immediately: the Steam store still labels the full game Coming soon. The publisher’s official game page and press materials provide background and approved imagery, although some older press-kit release information has not caught up with the latest announcement.

For players who miss the score-chasing rhythm of SSX, the interesting question will be whether HYPERyuki can make its tricks feel as rewarding as its vibrant presentation looks. We’ll be watching for the promised demo and firmer platform dates. This is announcement coverage, not a hands-on preview.
