FIRST SIGNAL / FREE PUBLIC STEAM DEMO / UPCOMING OCEAN RPG
The end of the world does not have to mean the end of exploration. InFlood, an upcoming open-world role-playing game from independent developer Ilya Maslennikov, imagines a flooded Earth where the next story waits beyond the horizon. Sailing, encounters with sea creatures, quests and competing communities form the backdrop to a journey that begins with a mystery about the protagonist.
A world rebuilt around water
InFlood places its adventure on an ocean-covered planet. According to the official Steam description, players can visit different regions, meet the people living among the ruins and encounter rival coalitions. The game also introduces ORA, an artificial-intelligence navigation module that accompanies an amnesiac protagonist as they try to uncover their past. This is a story premise, not a claim about the game using runtime generative AI.

Maslennikov describes sailing, naval combat, trading and quests as part of the larger design. The store page also highlights fighting sea creatures, upgrading your ship, recruiting a crew and making choices about which groups to support. It is a combination with room for both discovery and difficult decisions, although the final balance and scope will only be clear through hands-on play.
A demo you can try before release
The official Steam listing currently offers a Download Demo option. The store lists Windows and macOS requirements, while the full game remains marked Coming soon. The developer says an Early Access launch is planned within the next few months, but no exact release date has been confirmed. A free public demo requires no press key; this article is a discovery feature, not a hands-on review.

What the developer has disclosed
InFlood’s Steam page includes an AI-content disclosure: generative AI tools have been used to assist with some written material and localisation, with that text reviewed and revised by the development team. The listing states that the game does not use generative AI at runtime. The developer separately confirms that the press-kit screenshots supplied for this feature are genuine captures from the game and permits their credited editorial use.
For players who enjoy a journey with an open horizon, InFlood is worth watching as it moves towards release. Its public demo offers a chance to explore the concept directly, while the full game’s launch timing and final features remain to be confirmed.
