A flock of alien ducks trying not to make a sound has become one of Steam Scream V’s early talking points. LINE Games says its co-operative horror comedy QUIET reached the number-one spot in the event’s Top Demos category during the first 24 hours. Its first public demo is now available free on Steam, with an Epic Games Store version also offered by the developer.
The ranking comes from a 27 October 2026 publisher announcement distributed through Vicariously PR. We have not independently archived Steam’s live chart position, so this is the publisher’s reported milestone rather than a claim that QUIET still leads at the time you read this.
Four ducks, one noisy disaster
The premise is wonderfully simple. You and up to three other players take control of stranded extraterrestrial ducks looking for spaceship components inside a strange house. The problem is that someone is listening. Dropping an object, moving carelessly or speaking through your real-world microphone can give away your position.
That microphone requirement is central rather than an optional gimmick. A nervous laugh or a badly timed warning to a teammate might be exactly what turns a careful salvage trip into a frantic escape. The game combines stealth, physics-driven chaos and teamwork, with the threat shared by the whole flock.

A new arcade mode and Halloween additions
The Steam Scream demo introduces a four-player Duck Out arcade stage that shifts the emphasis from co-operation to competitive interference. LINE Games also highlights a redesigned spaceship-themed waiting room and seasonal Halloween content.
The publisher says QUIET previously attracted more than 350,000 public playtest sign-ups, with 271,132 participants from 148 countries. Those figures are developer-reported and not independently audited. They do, however, suggest substantial interest in the game’s unusual blend of proximity audio and co-operative horror.
How to play the demo
The free QUIET demo is available on Steam, while the official game website also points to Epic Games Store access. The full game is not released yet; its Steam page currently lists a provisional Q1 2027 launch window.
For anyone looking for a Steam Scream game to try with friends, QUIET has an entertaining pitch: four alien ducks, one apparently ordinary house and the kind of microphone-based panic that could turn a whisper into a disaster.
