Chucklefish has dated Witchbrook for 28 January 2027, confirming that its long-awaited magical life simulation will arrive on PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The announcement came alongside a new gameplay trailer at Nintendo’s 28 October Indie World presentation.
The PlayStation 5 version is a new addition to the announced platform line-up. Chucklefish also says the game will be available through Xbox Game Pass from launch. Its official media factsheet now lists 28 January 2027, although the Steam store page still displays an older 2026 window at the time of writing. This is a future release announcement, not a launch or hands-on review.
Magic lessons, a seaside town and shared adventures
Witchbrook puts players in the role of a student at Witchbrook College, located in the seaside town of Mossport. Lessons in alchemy, astrology, tarot and rituals sit alongside more everyday pursuits: getting to know townspeople, finding romance, fishing, gardening, joining clubs and running a small magical business. Players can renovate a woodland cottage and explore the town as its seasons change.
Crucially, these activities are not restricted to solo play. Chucklefish confirms online co-op for up to four players, allowing friends to attend classes, explore and spend time in Mossport together. The new trailer offers a closer look at the classroom work, potion-making, rituals and magical creatures, giving a clearer sense of how the game’s school life and social simulation connect.
Price and availability
Chucklefish has announced a US price of $24.99. UK pricing has not yet been confirmed, so there is no verified sterling price to report. The studio lists ten interface languages and names Robotality as its co-development partner.
For players who have followed Witchbrook through its earlier release windows, the concrete January date is the main news. The combination of college routines, town relationships and co-operative play is promising on paper, but its execution remains to be judged when the finished game is available.
