What if your dinner could eat you first? Just One Bite from developer and publisher Opus Nine is an offbeat co-operative horror game where players become wooden puppets sent to gather food for humanity. Unfortunately, some of that food has monsters hiding inside it.

FIRST SIGNAL / THE SCREAM SIGNAL
1–4 players. Suspicious snacks. Flying weapons. Absolutely no food safety guarantees.
Never trust the menu
The goal is to recover as much food as possible, then return it to safety. But every item could conceal a threat, turning an ordinary supply run into a tense guessing game. The game supports solo play and online co-op for up to four players.
Players wield floating weapons to grab items and battle monsters, while a modified truck provides a mobile refuge between expeditions. Collected food becomes currency for upgrading your character and equipment, adding a risk-and-reward loop to every trip.
Play the demo during spooky season
The free Just One Bite demo was released on Steam on 9 September 2026. The full game is planned for Early Access on 2 November 2026, according to its current Steam listing; launch dates can change. It’s a timely discovery for readers exploring indie horror around Steam Scream V, though we have not independently confirmed the game’s official participation in the event.
