In Void Reaver, surviving a storm of alien enemies depends on more than your reflexes. Your backpack is your weapon. Banana Blitz Studio’s upcoming sci-fi action roguelite combines the escalating chaos of bullet-heaven combat with a grid-based inventory puzzle, and a free demo is available ahead of its planned 11 November 2026 release.
A backpack full of possibilities
Weapons and artefacts don’t simply occupy slots. Their position matters: arrange items next to one another to activate bonuses, combine matching gear and build powerful chains of effects. Meanwhile, your character moves through waves of enemies as equipped weapons fire automatically. The challenge becomes a balance between movement, survival and clever preparation.
More to unlock between runs
Developer updates have expanded the demo with a technology tree, permanent progression, additional weapons and relics, and another playable character. The full game promises different specialists with their own abilities and skill trees, encouraging players to rethink how they assemble each build.
Built with streamers in mind
One particularly interesting addition is Twitch integration, which allows audiences to influence the action. That gives Void Reaver obvious potential for community-driven livestreams, especially when combined with its rapid-fire runs and unpredictable item synergies. The developers have also continued updating the demo in response to feedback.
A November launch to watch
The current Steam listing gives 11 November 2026 as the planned release date. The game remains unreleased at the time of writing, so it belongs in First Signal rather than The Switchboard. Players can download the demo and wishlist the full game now.
