Monster Movie Mayhem: Become the Monster When the Cameras Roll

Official Monster Movie Mayhem artwork from HaddyForge

Lights, camera, destruction. HaddyForge’s Monster Movie Mayhem puts you in the starring role of a wonderfully chaotic B-movie monster, turning a city-sized film set into a playground of collapsing buildings, exploding petrol stations and escalating military resistance. The game is targeting 30 October 2026 for its Steam release, with a free demo available now.

Become the monster

Instead of running away from a rampaging creature, you are the creature. Smash your way through procedurally arranged districts, use abilities including flame breath, stomps and tail swipes, and try to make each destructive run a spectacular take. The more damage you cause, the more determined the response becomes, moving from police to military vehicles, helicopters and heavily armed infantry.

Roguelite mayhem with a cinematic twist

Temporary mutations change your abilities during a run, while permanent evolution cards let you experiment with new approaches over time. The game also features leaderboards, different difficulties and giant mechanical boss encounters, including the heavily armed Warden. Environmental chain reactions add another layer to the destruction: one explosion can quickly turn into several.

Five bosses and the ideas left behind

In a recent post on X, the developer explained that each of the five bosses began as three concepts before one was selected. It’s an intriguing glimpse at the decisions behind the spectacle, and we’d love to learn more about the designs that didn’t make the final cut.

Play the demo

Monster Movie Mayhem on Steam currently offers a free demo. The 30 October date is the announced target; check Steam for final launch confirmation.
