Some adventures don’t need a grand quest to feel enormous. In Littlelands, a small character explores a world of oversized plants, curious neighbours, hidden treasures and surprisingly dangerous corners. Developed by Rafael Martín and Kyle Creamer and published by Apogee Entertainment, the colourful exploration adventure is scheduled to enter Steam Early Access on 16 November 2026.
Small discoveries, big adventures
The appeal of Littlelands is its invitation to set your own pace. Players can talk with villagers, take on their tasks, catch insects, fish, grow berries and hunt for treasure. Venture farther afield and the gentler routine gives way to caves, dungeons, goblins and combat. It’s a blend of cosy life-sim activities and exploratory action rather than a game devoted to just one of those ideas.
A demo shaped by feedback
The free Steam demo has been updated following community feedback, including changes to controls, character customisation, combat and navigation. Earlier developer notes described roughly two hours of demo content across six areas, with more than 20 characters to encounter. As with any in-development demo, details may continue to change.
Early Access begins in November
The team plans to use Early Access to improve exploration, combat, farming and other systems with player input. That means the 16 November release is the beginning of its publicly playable development journey, not the finished 1.0 launch.
Why Littlelands caught our attention
There’s a distinctive warmth to the handcrafted world shown in its trailers and screenshots. We’re particularly interested in how the team balances peaceful activities with discovery and danger, and how the small scale of its characters shapes the sense of adventure. With a demo already available, this is an ideal opportunity for curious players to see whether the world draws them in.
