Pidgeon Pocket: The Cosy Pigeon Heist Game Where Your Flock Does the Stealing

Pidgeon Pocket: when your local pigeons become an organised crime syndicate

Every park has pigeons. This one has a squad of feathered professionals stealing coins, gaining superpowers and turning lunchtime into a heist.

Most incremental games begin with a harmless activity that grows wildly out of control. Pidgeon Pocket starts with a flock of pigeons in a public park and a surprisingly ambitious business plan: steal shiny things from distracted visitors, invest the proceeds and train an increasingly capable team of avian pickpockets.

The game’s distinctive spelling, Pidgeon with a ‘d’, is deliberate. So is its cheerful blend of cosy visuals and low-stakes criminal enterprise. Spanish developer Javier Lianes García of Lianes8 Studio submitted it directly to Coloured Static Press with a free demo and official trailer. Steam currently lists an Early Access launch on 9 November 2026.

A flock built one stolen coin at a time

The basic idea is straightforward. Send your birds into the crowd, collect the money they bring back, and spend it on upgrades to improve future heists. As the flock levels up, individual pigeons gain abilities and new ways to earn more from the park’s visitors. The studio describes a progression system with upgrades, different pigeon tiers and powers designed to keep the cycle moving.

There’s a pleasing absurdity to treating a humble park pigeon as a specialist operative. The best part of the premise is the contrast between the gentle presentation and the growing ambition of your feathered gang. It’s not a crime thriller. It’s a relaxed numbers-go-up game where the next big score depends on the next little bird.

Some games give you an army of heroes. Pidgeon Pocket gives you a pigeon and an unreasonable amount of confidence in its criminal potential.

One park, a surprising amount of variety

The official developer site lists themed visual variations for the park, including a Christmas setting, Halloween and neon-lit night scenes. It also describes a skill tree, different bird tiers and cosmetic customisation. Those features offer a way to keep the action visually fresh even when the underlying loop remains familiar.

The free Steam demo is also playable on Windows, macOS and Linux according to the studio. A preview like this is especially useful for an incremental game, because the central question is how satisfying the first few upgrades feel. A clever description can get players to click, but the rhythm of the loop is what makes them stay.

From indie developer to feathered empire

Pidgeon Pocket isn’t Lianes8 Studio’s only upcoming project. The same solo developer is also making Maneki Mania, a cosy lucky-cat fortune shrine with a distinctly different reward system. The two games would make an interesting linked developer interview: why choose incremental progression for such different concepts, and how does a solo creator keep each game’s identity clear?

There is also a wider story here about small studios building unusual concepts and using free demos to find an audience. That’s exactly why First Signal exists. We haven’t played Pidgeon Pocket yet, but the public demo gives players a way to find out whether its feathered formula works for them.
