REKA 1.0 Launches Today: Witchcraft, Folklore and a House on Chicken Legs

REKA official game key art featuring its folkloric witchcraft setting

REKA reaches version 1.0 on 26 October 2026, bringing its folklore-inspired witchcraft adventure out of Steam Early Access just in time for Halloween. Developed by Emberstorm Entertainment and published by Fireshine Games, the game invites players to explore an autumnal wilderness, learn from Baba Jaga and build a wonderfully unusual home on chicken legs.

A witch’s journey reaches its next chapter

In its official Steam announcements, Emberstorm confirmed the 26 October release for REKA 1.0 after shifting the launch into the autumn season. The studio has highlighted the conclusion of the game’s story, additional quests and discoveries, expanded house building and performance improvements as part of the journey to the full release.

At the heart of REKA is its unusual blend of atmospheric exploration and creative freedom. Players forage through woodland, practise witchcraft and shape a moving cottage inspired by Slavic folklore. The house itself is as much a character as a base, with new opportunities to make it feel personal.

Why it’s on our radar

REKA offers something different from the usual Halloween release calendar. Rather than relying on jump scares, it leans into the quieter strangeness of folklore: misty forests, ritual, discovery and the comfort of building a home in an unfamiliar world. The combination makes it a particularly interesting title for players who enjoy exploration and creative systems.

Where to play REKA

REKA is available on Steam for PC. The developers have also offered a demo for anyone who wants to sample its opening chapter. Check the Steam store for current demo availability, pricing and system requirements.

Coloured Static Press coverage: This is a release-news feature based on official developer and publisher information, not a hands-on review. We would welcome the opportunity to explore REKA in more depth.
