COLOURED STATIC PRESS · THE SIGNAL DROP · HALLOWEEN 2026
OFFICIAL HALLOWEEN 2026 PRIVACY NOTICE. Entries open 31 October at 12:00 GMT and close 2 November at 20:00 GMT. This describes personal-data processing for the Halloween Signal Drop only, not the separate November ORBIT giveaway.
Who is responsible
Coloured Static Press, operated by Andrew Bandy, is responsible for this free community draw’s entry information. Write to info@colouredstaticpress.com about privacy, or press@colouredstaticpress.com about prize-draw rules.
Information we will collect
Our self-hosted Fluent Forms entry form asks for a name, email address, age/residency/Steam-redeemability declaration and acknowledgement of the rules and this notice. It may also process limited IP, browser and security metadata to help prevent automated or duplicate submissions. A winner may need to verify eligibility and provide their county for legitimate winner-record/publicity requirements. We will never request a Steam password, payment card details, or identity scans as part of ordinary entry.
Purpose and lawful basis
We will use entry information solely to process free entries, enforce eligibility and one-entry rules, select winners at random, privately deliver prizes, maintain proportionate draw evidence and respond to genuine claims, fraud prevention or legal responsibilities. Our UK GDPR lawful bases are legitimate interests in administering a fair and secure free draw, steps necessary to deliver prizes where applicable, and compliance with relevant legal obligations. We minimise the information collected and consider entrants’ privacy interests. An entry is not permission to receive unrelated marketing, and no mailing list subscription is automatic.
Who receives the information
Access will be restricted to the organiser and necessary service providers for WordPress hosting, the self-hosted Fluent Forms plugin and the email service. Entrants’ names or addresses will not be distributed to game developers. Steam and the game suppliers may be involved only if a redemption support problem makes disclosure necessary, and we will first discuss that with the winner. We will never disclose raw prize codes publicly.
Winner transparency and objections
A verified award may require limited winner information to be made public or available on request, ordinarily surname and county where proportionate. You can object or request reduced details at entry or at any time by writing to our privacy address. We will take those concerns into account, and may still need to provide sufficient draw evidence to the Advertising Standards Authority on request. No entrant’s email address, home address or Steam identifier will be publicised.
How long we keep information
Unsuccessful entrants’ personally identifying data will normally be removed within 90 days after prize fulfilment. Winner contact/delivery records will normally be deleted on the same timetable, unless a genuine dispute, fraud concern or legal duty justifies retaining the minimum necessary information longer. Hosting, email logs and backup retention may follow providers’ own schedules. A retention review and deletion procedure will be recorded by the organiser.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, erasure or restriction of your information, object to appropriate processing and raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. Contact info@colouredstaticpress.com. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Other information
This notice applies only to the Halloween event. The Halloween giveaway rules cover eligibility, prizes and winner selection. General site data handling is described in our main Privacy Policy. Entries are accepted only during the stated window. This notice reflects the entry form, published dates and four-prize allocation.
