Indie Spotlight | Steam Next Fest 2026
In a traditional tower defence game, you place your defences and hope the plan survives contact with the enemy. Not My Base! gives you another job to worry about: taking control of a hero while your fortifications attempt to withstand the oncoming army.

Build, defend and improvise
Developed and published by Hyper Cloud Games, Not My Base! is a colourful, isometric strategy game built around defending a stronghold. Players gather coins, upgrade defences and decide how best to spend resources before enemy forces overwhelm the base.
The game’s official description stresses that its levels are handcrafted. Each brings its own layout and challenge, encouraging players to rethink strategies instead of relying on a single perfect build. The developer’s pitch has a playful edge: you can work hard to defend your home, or sit back and watch it burn.
The hero matters
Direct control of a hero adds a second layer to the usual tower defence formula. Decisions about where to move, what to collect and when to strengthen your defences all compete for attention. The appeal is the possibility of rescuing a failing plan through active intervention, though we’ll reserve judgement on how that balance feels until we’ve played it.
