Indie Spotlight | Steam Next Fest 2026
There’s more than fairy-tale charm behind the pixel art of Forge of the Fae. Datadyne LLC’s story-led RPG follows Fiora, a young inventor searching for answers as industrial unrest and mysterious disappearances shake a world inspired by Celtic folklore.

Industry, folklore and a missing-person mystery
A miners’ strike has turned violent, and the Mining Company has hired mercenaries to suppress the unrest. Amid the upheaval, people begin to disappear. Fiora’s investigation takes her into a world of conflicting interests, strange magic and decisions that the developers say will influence her journey and relationships.
A mechanical fairy and an unusual magic system
Fiora is accompanied by a mechanical faerie that can be upgraded to open new paths and reveal secrets. The ARC Crystal System is designed to let players combine abilities and spells, encouraging experimentation with elemental weaknesses, character skills and tactical synergies.
Turn-based battles with a quicker rhythm
Rather than abandoning traditional JRPG combat, Forge of the Fae builds on it. Combo abilities pair skills with spells, while Adrenaline Surges promise additional actions without consuming turns. The emphasis appears to be on giving players meaningful choices without turning every encounter into a marathon.
Where to find it
The game is developed by Datadyne LLC and published by Deck13. Its official Steam page lists a downloadable demo, with the full release date still to be announced.
