Indie Spotlight | Steam Next Fest 2026
Summer holidays are supposed to be relaxing. In My Summer Project Together, they’re a chance to assemble an entire car from the ground up, earn money doing odd jobs and turn the countryside into your personal parts-hunting expedition. The twist is that up to four friends can tackle the project online.

Every nut, bolt and missing component
Developed and published by Outsource Console Games, the simulation begins with a pile of components rather than a road-ready vehicle. Players must source and assemble the engine, fuel and electrical systems, suspension, wheels and bodywork. Even once everything fits together, the car still needs fuel and oil before it can leave the garage.
Earn it before you drive it
Parts cost money, so players can take on jobs such as taxi driving and harvesting. Exploring sheds, abandoned buildings and old vehicles may reveal useful components. That creates a practical loop between earning, scavenging and making visible progress on the build.
A summer shared
The game supports solo play as well as online cooperation for up to four players. The appeal lies in splitting tasks, working towards a common goal and inevitably becoming distracted by the freedom of an open countryside.
