CS PRESS VERDICT · EXCELLENT

A fantastic 32-inch 1440p gaming monitor for the money, with superb everyday responsiveness and an HDR presentation I genuinely enjoy.

HANDS-ON HARDWARE REVIEW / PERSONALLY PURCHASED · 85/100 | Independently scored after extended personal use. The exact product purchased is the KOORUI 32-inch curved QHD 170Hz monitor listed at Amazon UK as ASIN B0H5QTVMFT.

Some monitors impress for five minutes in a shop. Others keep convincing you every time you sit down to play. My 32-inch KOORUI has become the latter. It is my main gaming monitor, running alongside two 27-inch KOORUI displays, and I’m genuinely impressed by its picture quality, responsiveness and value.

This is not a flagship OLED with an equally spectacular price tag. It’s a curved 1440p VA display running at up to 170Hz, and that combination has been fantastic for my everyday gaming. Even HDR, something I wouldn’t automatically expect to be impressive on a monitor in this bracket, looks excellent to my eyes.

One main screen, two monitors to do everything else

My usual setup has the 32-inch KOORUI in the middle and two 27-inch KOORUI 27E6QCA monitors alongside it. Those smaller displays handle the supporting jobs: browser windows, notes, messages, system monitoring and everything else that would otherwise clutter the game screen.

It’s a great arrangement for gaming and working at the same desk. The central screen gets the attention it deserves, while the other two keep everyday tasks accessible without constantly reaching for Alt+Tab. For someone who spends plenty of time in front of a PC, that matters just as much as the marketing specifications.

1440p at 32 inches works for me

At 2560 × 1440 in a standard 16:9 widescreen format (not ultrawide), the screen gives me a big, detailed gaming image while placing considerably less pressure on the GPU than 4K. The screen is large enough to feel properly immersive without needing to chase an expensive ultra-high-end graphics card just to make use of its refresh rate.

There is a compromise worth recognising: pixel density is lower here than on a 27-inch 1440p screen. If your main concern is fine text and you sit very close, the smaller panel will look a little sharper. At my normal viewing distance, though, I love the larger gaming picture and haven’t felt the need to change.

170Hz is more than enough for the way I play

I use the monitor over DisplayPort, which is important if you want the full 170Hz at QHD resolution when the exact monitor and connection support that mode. The desktop feels responsive and games are wonderfully smooth when the graphics card is delivering enough frames.

It’s worth being clear about what this does and doesn’t prove. A 170Hz refresh rate gives a refresh interval of about 5.9ms, but that isn’t the same as measured total input lag or actual pixel response. I haven’t conducted laboratory measurements. My verdict here is about the real experience of playing on a monitor that has consistently felt responsive to me.

The picture and HDR are the surprise

If I had to choose the biggest positive, it’s the screen itself. The image looks fantastic, with rich colour and pleasing depth. I also really enjoy the HDR presentation on my unit. That’s not a casual throwaway compliment; it has genuinely exceeded my expectations for the price.

Of course, there’s a difference between enjoying HDR and claiming this matches an OLED or an expensive Mini LED display. I haven’t measured peak brightness, local dimming or tone mapping with specialist equipment. This is an owner’s subjective experience, not an HDR certification test. The point is that the monitor looks excellent to me in the games I actually play.

What you need to know before buying

  • Choose the right connection: The 32E6QC manufacturer’s documentation specifies QHD at 170Hz over DisplayPort, while HDMI tops out at 144Hz at 1440p.
  • The stand is basic: If you want generous height and rotation adjustment, check your exact unit’s VESA mounting compatibility before buying an arm.
  • It’s a VA panel: Dark-level smearing can occur on monitors of this type. It hasn’t spoilt my everyday experience, but particularly sensitive competitive players may prefer a measured IPS comparison.
  • It’s 32 inches at 1440p: Excellent for a larger gaming image, less pixel-dense than a 27-inch QHD screen.
  • Don’t overread the 1ms claim: Marketing response figures use specific test conditions and aren’t a substitute for real-world measurements.

My verdict

For the money, this screen has been flawless in my use. I enjoy the size, the picture quality, the HDR experience and how responsive it feels at 1440p and 170Hz. With two 27-inch monitors either side, it makes for a setup that suits both gaming and everything that happens around it.

There are more expensive monitors with better measured technical performance and fancier features. That doesn’t make this one any less satisfying. It’s the sort of hardware I recommend because it lives on my desk and I genuinely love using it.

CS Press verdict: 85/100. A fantastic main gaming monitor for the money. The combination of 1440p resolution, 170Hz refresh rate, enjoyable HDR and responsive everyday performance makes this a screen I’d happily recommend. It isn’t flawless against premium competition, but it has been outstanding value in my setup.
