Penguin rivalries are heading to the arena. Antarctic Showdown is a 1v1 top-down shooting roguelite from developer znlfxm, who shared the game directly with Coloured Static Press on X.
One-on-one battles with room to grow
The premise turns disputes between penguin tribes into duels between champions. Players compete against another person in frantic arena battles, but losing is not necessarily the end of progress. The Steam page promises more than 90 upgrades to experiment with across matches.
Demo and release plans
A demo is available on Steam, with the full game currently scheduled for 1 December 2026. The developer’s Steam listing also discloses AI-generated background music, some sound effects and some text localisation.
