Indie Spotlight | Steam Next Fest 2026
Most space shooters ask you to save a world. Elandrake asks you to protect something that may consume one. In this incremental twin-stick shooter from i2 Games Ltd, you defend the emergence of a cosmic entity against fleets determined to stop it.

Protect the thing everyone fears
Players take the role of a protogen, protecting an entity as it enters reality. Enemy civilizations respond with increasingly advanced fleets, escalating their efforts as your growing power becomes harder to ignore.
Rather than offering a fixed set of weapons from start to finish, the game uses energy collected during runs to unlock and upgrade abilities. The developer emphasises combinations between those powers, inviting players to experiment with destructive synergies as encounters become more demanding.
Progression that changes the battlefield
The game’s incremental approach gives repeated runs a larger purpose. As the entity grows stronger, the scale of the threat and the player’s options expand together. The result is a distinctive pitch: a shooter where progression is as important as aiming.
Steam recommends playing with a controller and lists full controller support for Xbox and PlayStation controllers. We have not independently tested those controls.
Demo available
The official Elandrake Demo was released on 8 October 2026. The full game is currently targeting Q4 2026. Visit Elandrake on Steam.
The team has also expressed interest in a developer conversation with Coloured Static Press. We hope to explore how its cosmic setting and progression systems came together in a future interview.
