Tavern Clicker: Crooked Mug Is Brewing a Cosy Medieval Incremental Adventure

Tavern Clicker illustrated key art featuring two tavern characters, frothing mugs and a dragon in the background

First Signal | Indie Discovery

Pull up a chair, pour another round and watch a modest medieval tavern grow into something rather more magical. Tavern Clicker is an upcoming cosy fantasy incremental game for PC from small independent team Crooked Mug, with a release currently planned for Q4 2026.

From serving drinks to building a tavern

At its heart, Tavern Clicker is about serving drinks, earning coins and reinvesting those earnings into the business. Players will be able to unlock new brews and meet unusual guests, then spend their proceeds on decorations, automation and magic. It’s a familiar incremental-game loop with a characterful medieval-fantasy setting.

The combination of hospitality and automation is an intriguing one. Rather than presenting progression as an abstract series of numbers alone, Crooked Mug is framing it around the life of a growing tavern. How far those systems develop over a full playthrough remains to be seen.

An old-world look

The team says its artwork draws inspiration from old engravings, an aesthetic that gives the project a different visual starting point from many colourful modern clickers. Its official key art features enthusiastic tavern-goers, overflowing tankards and a dragon watching over the scene, immediately establishing a playful fantasy tone.

The people behind the pints

Matylda “Burpy” Nowak from Crooked Mug contacted Coloured Static Press directly, explaining that the team’s enthusiasm for incremental games was part of what inspired the project. She also offered to discuss the process of making the game, and we’ve invited the team to take part in a developer interview.

We’re particularly interested in how Crooked Mug is approaching long-term progression, the balance between manual interaction and automation, and the decision to draw on historical engraving styles.

Release plans

Tavern Clicker is currently targeting a Q4 2026 PC release. That is the developer’s stated window, not a confirmed launch date. We’ll follow its progress and share more from the team as their answers arrive.
