Your Quest, Please: The Fantasy Adventure Where You Approve the Quests

Indie Spotlight | Steam Next Fest 2026

Fantasy adventures usually place you in the boots of a hero, chasing quests and collecting rewards. Your quest, please puts you on the other side of the counter. You are the non-player character responsible for deciding which would-be adventurers deserve permission to undertake a quest.

Adventuring is a paperwork problem

The premise is deceptively simple: approve or reject a hero’s request. But the King issues fresh guidelines every day, and your job is to apply them correctly. Rather than swinging a sword, you must interpret rules, assess applicants and keep up with a workplace whose demands keep changing.

New tools are introduced as the days pass, making each decision more involved. A wrong call can cost you your job, so the humour of fantasy bureaucracy is balanced by the pressure of getting the details right.

A different perspective on the genre

The game’s appeal lies in turning a familiar role-playing-game convention inside out. Players accustomed to collecting quests are now the gatekeepers. It’s an intriguing foundation for a deduction game because the challenge comes from noticing details and applying shifting instructions rather than combat or exploration.

Who is making it?

Your quest, please is developed and published by ToutPetit, who brought the project to Coloured Static Press’s attention during our indie outreach. The official Steam page lists English and French support and a release date yet to be announced.

Where to find it

The developer has a separate Steam demo listing, released on 14 October 2026. Visit the full game on Steam or see the demo listing.

The demo’s Steam page discloses the use of generative AI for some temporary user-interface visuals ahead of Steam Next Fest. The developer says these will be reworked and that no AI-generated images will be included in the final game.

Editorial note: This is a discovery feature based on the developer’s official description, not a hands-on review.
