Our readers should be able to tell the difference between reporting, opinion, reviews, and commercial relationships. This page sets out the standards Coloured Static Press intends to follow.
Editorial independence
Reviews and coverage are based on our own assessment. Providing a review copy, sample or advance access does not guarantee coverage or a favourable verdict. Material commercial relationships will be disclosed where relevant.
Reviews and scores
Our reviews should explain the experience behind the conclusion, including strengths, limitations, value and who a product or game is for. Where we use a score, it is expressed on a 100-point scale and is not a substitute for the written verdict.
Corrections and transparency
When a material factual error is identified, we aim to correct it promptly and make substantial changes clear. Rumours, leaks and unverified claims should be distinguished from confirmed information.
Images and attribution
We aim to use first-party photography, authorised press assets, supplied media or properly licensed material, with attribution where required. We will not present illustrative or generated images as authentic photographs.
Commercial content
Affiliate links, sponsored material and partnerships should be labelled where applicable. Commercial arrangements do not determine editorial verdicts.
